Concrete Foundations & Footings
Strong, stable foundations that support your home or structure for generations.

The Most Important Part of Any Structure
Your foundation literally holds up everything else. A solid foundation keeps walls straight, floors level, and prevents the settling and cracking that leads to expensive structural repairs. Whether you are building a new home, adding an addition, or constructing a garage or shed, getting the foundation right is not optional.
Foundation work is not glamorous, but it is absolutely critical. You cannot see most of it once construction is complete, but poor foundation work causes problems that show up everywhere. Cracks in walls, doors that stick, uneven floors, and water intrusion all trace back to foundation issues. When you need quality foundation work, you need someone who understands soil conditions, proper drainage, reinforcement requirements, and building codes.
Foundation Services We Provide
We handle all types of foundation and footing work for residential and light commercial projects:
- New Home Foundations: Full basement foundations, crawl space foundations, and slab-on-grade installations built to code and engineered for your soil conditions.
- Addition Foundations: Extending your foundation for room additions, ensuring the new section integrates properly with your existing structure.
- Garage Foundations: Attached or detached garage foundations with proper footings to support walls and roof loads.
- Shed and Outbuilding Foundations: Properly sized foundations for storage buildings, workshops, and other structures.
- Footings for Walls: Foundation footings for retaining walls and other structures that need solid support.
- Foundation Walls: Poured concrete walls that form basement or crawl space enclosures, properly reinforced and waterproofed.
What Makes a Good Foundation
Proper Depth and Width
Footings need to extend below the frost line, which in Massachusetts means at least 4 feet deep. This prevents frost heaving that can crack foundations and shift structures. Width depends on soil bearing capacity and the loads your structure will carry. We size footings correctly based on engineering requirements and local codes.
Drainage and Waterproofing
Water is the enemy of foundations. We install proper drainage systems including perimeter drains and waterproofing membranes to keep water away from foundation walls. Proper grading directs surface water away from the structure. These systems work together to keep your basement or crawl space dry.
Reinforcement and Quality Concrete
We use rebar reinforcement in footings and foundation walls to resist cracking and add structural strength. Our concrete mixes meet or exceed code requirements for strength and durability. We never cut corners on materials that you cannot see but that determine how long your foundation lasts.
Experience with Local Conditions
Randolph sits on varied soil types, from clay to sand to ledge. Each requires different approaches to foundation work. We have worked throughout the area long enough to understand local soil conditions and how they affect foundation design and installation.
We also understand Massachusetts building codes and work with local inspectors regularly. Our installations pass inspection the first time because we build them right. From proper rebar placement to adequate concrete coverage to correct drainage details, we handle every aspect of foundation work professionally. Need other structural concrete work?
